How Toward works
Toward begins with an update, not a board.
A person shares what changed. Toward interprets the information, connects it to the right project, and maintains an organized view of progress, tasks and blockers—automatic project status updates, without the board upkeep.
1. Share an update
Use Toward Capture to write or speak in everyday language.
You can also connect Slack and share updates where your team already talks. You don't need to rewrite a normal project update as a collection of form fields.
For example: “The payment sandbox is ready. Integration testing starts Wednesday, but the order-history contract is still changing.”
2. Clarity Engine: understand the meaning
The Clarity Engine turns unstructured updates into organized project information. It identifies relevant details and connects them to the appropriate project context. The point is to understand the work, not simply store the message.
3. Project Tracker: maintain the state
Project Tracker keeps tasks, project status and boards up to date as new updates arrive. The team can look at the current picture without manually recreating it after every conversation.
4. Risk Spotter: identify what needs attention
A missed dependency or recurring contract change may be more important than a completed task. Risk Spotter connects information across updates to surface blockers, repeated problems and emerging risks.
5. Progress Listener: recognize change over time
One message explains a moment. Several messages reveal movement—the difference between status and progress. Progress Listener tracks what has changed, what is moving and what still needs action.
These capabilities work together on every update. You don’t configure or manage them individually.
What Toward needs from you
Toward works from the updates your team shares. Keep them coming, and Toward maintains the context and surfaces concerns—while your team stays in charge of the decisions.
